James (JT) Fryer

Certification Officer/Academic Advisor

James (JT) Fryer, M.A., joined the Center for Excellence & Equity in Teacher Preparation in July 2023 as the Certification Officer/Academic Advisor.  Within this role, JT provides support to students seeking institutional recommendation and teacher certification.  JT Fryer is a UD alumnus. Throughout his time as an undergraduate student, he was an active member of both the Ballroom Dance Team and the UD Chorale. After graduating in 2014 with a degree in Music Education, he spent 8 years teaching in New Jersey, during which time he built up the choral program at Neptune High School and received a master’s degree in School Administration. When an opportunity arose to live and teach in Alaska, he jumped on it. After a year of teaching at West Anchorage High School, JT returned to the East Coast and joined the UD CEETP.
