Common Core Standards Resources 

Common Core Standards Resources provides links to several websites for professional resources and curriculum resources.  The resources are also broken into English Language Arts, Mathematics, Languages, Science, Social Studies and Assessment.  There are even Parent Resources available for the Common Core State Standards.


Adapting Curriculum & Classroom Environments for Student Success (ACCESS)

The CDS-DOE ACCESS project provides appropriate instruction and support to all students, including those with significant needs, and provides professional development so educators can meet the instructional needs of all students.


Delaware Assistive Technology Initiative (DATI)

DATI services help people learn about assistive technology options and acquire the devices that can support them at work, school, home and in the community.

 

Student Organizations

APPLE – Association of Pre-Professional Leaders in Education

The mission of APPLE is to promote professional development, outreach, and social networking among Elementary and Middle School Teacher Education (EME) students. Our goal is to build a strong community of EME students in order to provide additional support for them.


ASPIRE

ASPIRE promotes the recruitment, retention and successful graduation of students pursuing a career in education or human services. Social and professional development activities encourage students to forge relationships with professionals in the broader community. Members of the organization are specifically committed to working with pre-college students to support their readiness for college and interest in teacher education as a career pathway.

Best Buddies

UD offers a student chapter of Best Buddies, to foster one-on-one mentoring relationships and leadership development with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.


Kappa Delta Pi

Kappa Delta Pi promotes excellence in, and recognizes outstanding contributions to, education. Kappa Delta Pi endeavors to maintain a high degree of professional fellowship among its members, to quicken professional growth, and honor achievement in educational work.

Membership:  Those elected to membership are teacher education majors (from all teaching fields) who exhibit the ideals of scholarship, high personal standards, and promise in teaching and allied professions.  Students are invited who have attained at least second semester sophomore status and a 3.25 or better GPA.  The completion of at least 20 hours of community service is required.

Student Association for the Education of Young Children (SAEYC) and National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) 

SAEYC and NAEYC provides professional development experiences for members and provide services to, and advocate for, young children birth through age 8 and their families.

Membership:  Students preparing for careers serving young children birth through age 8 and their families in schools, early care and education settings, hospitals, and human services.
